Breda-based Dimix bv and industry peer Sihl Direct bv from 's-Hertogenbosch joined forces last year. The two companies have been working together under the name Dimix since April 1, 2019. The merger of the two companies has been a success. "When you see that 8 out of 10 mergers fail, we can speak of a success story this past year," said Lars Vreeke, owner of Dimix BV.
Cross-pollination
For years Dimix has specialized in large format printers, cutters, films and tapes for the Benelux. Like Dimix, Sihl Direct supplies large format printing equipment and an extensive range of print media, mainly produced by the Sihl Group. "The different specialties and products complement each other perfectly and in this way we serve the customer even better. You see a real cross-pollination developing among our customers. Traditionally Sihl products we now also sell to Dimix customers and vice versa, a nice development!", says Lars.
Even more expertise
Sihl Direct bv has traditionally been very strong in hard to reach markets such as governments, schools, installation companies and reprographic companies, markets where Dimix until today was less at home. Moreover, Sihl Direct bv is very active in providing large format printing solutions for (construction) technical applications and with large format printing solutions aimed at the world of art and photography. "Because we were able to expand our sales markets with the acquisition, many opportunities have arisen. For our customers, little has changed last year. As they have come to expect from us, personal contact, service and knowledge transfer are central. Customers only notice that we suddenly have even more expertise in house."
Celebratory moment
The merger will be celebrated with staff in the Netherlands and Belgium later in the year, after the COVID-19 crisis.
