Constant print quality, we all want that

But what about these hot temperatures? Dimix offers tips to get the best ink results from your printers!

With the hot temperatures these days, it is very important that you keep the room where you print at a constant temperature. A climate-controlled print room would be great for this purpose. If you do not have one, a room with a temperature between 18-22 degrees is also sufficient.

If the print room gets too warm, the fluidity of the ink goes up, making it too thin. This will result in more ink in places where it shouldn't be.

In addition, if the temperature exceeds 35ºC, you may receive a message: 'Machine temperature high' or 'Environment temperature high'. The pinter will then stop printing further because it is too hot.

What is the best way to avoid this?

  • Recommended print room temperature: 18 - 25 ºC Ideal temperature is 21 degrees.
  • Recommended humidity print room: 40 - 60% non-condensing. A humidity of 50% is ideal.
  • Avoid printing next to open windows, exterior doors, air conditioners or heating systems.
  • Also make sure your ink is stored in the above conditions. Hot ink supplies also cause problems.
  • If you order ink during these hot days, let it warm up properly before placing it in the machine. Often the bottles or cartridges spend nearly 24 hours on the road in a hot truck.

Also, any rolls of media being used should be stored in the climate-controlled print room as early as 24 to 48 hours before you start printing to acclimate.
