Cast PVC - White gloss - Permanent gray high-tack adhesive - Thickness 50 µm - Suitable for low-energy, structured and 3D surfaces (such as car bumpers)
A 50 µm (micron) cast PVC film with glossy finish and adhesion designed to adhere reliably to smooth, textured and low-energy substrates. Ideal for long-term graphics, think signage, car wrapping and industrial applications.
This film is designed for difficult and low-energy surfaces such as polyethylene, polypropylene, powder-coated metals, painted plastics, textured or molded panels, etc. With high initial adhesion, the film provides grip where standard vinyls fail. However, cleaning and surface preparation and sometimes adhesion promoters may still be required for optimal results.
With vertical exposure to unprinted surfaces, the life of the film has been estimated at ~5-7 years (depending on climate). With printed graphics and protective overlaminates, the expected life may be shorter due to the durability of the ink. In environments with high UV radiation or corrosion, actual life may be shorter - consider a protective laminate or periodic maintenance.
The adhesive is designed to be permanent. For a limited removal window (e.g., up to 3-5 years, depending on the substrate and climate), removal with heat may be possible. After that, the adhesive may adhere too strongly or removal may damage the substrate.
The film is compatible with most types of large format printing: solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV-curable inks. As always, make sure your ink is fully cured and test the adhesion/print quality on samples before proceeding with mass production.
Laminates are recommended when additional protection is needed for abrasion resistance, UV resistance, protection from graffiti or chemical exposure. Use a compatible cast or premium laminate to maintain flexibility and prevent distortion.
The minimum temperature for application of this film is usually specified (often ~5°C or higher). Application in cold conditions may reduce adhesion and increase the risk of edges coming up. Always consult the product data sheet for the specific temperature range.
Store them in a cool, dry environment (20-25 °C, <50% RH). Store the rolls horizontally, avoid stacking heavy loads and avoid deformation. Avoid direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
Yes, because it is a cast film, it offers good ductility. Use proper heating, micro-screening and careful installation techniques, especially on compound curves. Avoid excessive stretching, which can lead to distortion or lifting.
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners and soft cloths. Avoid strong solvents or high-pressure cleaning at close range. Check edges and corners regularly, especially in windy or high moisture environments.
Unlike calendered vinyls, cast vinyls (especially those with high adhesion) have superior dimensional stability, conformability and longevity. Calendared vinyls tend to be thicker and less flexible and are often more likely to fail on textured or plastic substrates. For difficult surfaces, a cast vinyl with high adhesive strength is usually the best choice.
