The Grafitack 1225 & 1226 metallic polyester films are ideal for applications where a luxurious and eye-catching metallic mirror finish is desired. This includes high-end signage, lettering, decorative elements, window and interior decoration and promotional displays. With their glossy gold and silver finishes, these films draw immediate attention and add a premium look to any project.
The films are excellent for cutter applications. Use a sharp knife and adjust the cutting parameters for the thin thickness of the film (23 microns). Because of the stiffness of the polyester material, it may be necessary to reduce the cutting speed for accurate results. After cutting, simply remove the excess film and apply your design with an appropriate transfer film. It is important to proceed carefully when peeling to avoid damaging the thin film.
The films can be applied to smooth and flat surfaces such as glass, aluminum, painted metals and acrylics. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of dust, grease and other contaminants to ensure optimal adhesion. Because of the stiffness of the material, these films are less suitable for applications on curved or uneven surfaces.
Generally, it is not common to laminate metallic polyester films because of their mirror finish and thin thickness. Lamination can affect the gloss and mirror effect. If extra protection is desired, it is important to choose a laminate that is compatible with polyester films and will not affect their appearance. Consult Dimix for advice on suitable laminate options.
Maintenance is simple. Clean the surface with a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents or abrasive materials that may damage the film or scratch the reflective surface. When cleaning surfaces outdoors, be careful to preserve the integrity of the film.
The films can be removed by gently pulling them away from the surface. Due to the strong permanent adhesive, it may be necessary to apply heat with a hair dryer or heat source to soften the adhesive and facilitate removal. Any adhesive residue can be removed with an appropriate adhesive remover that is safe for the surface. It is important to proceed with caution to avoid damage to the underlying surface.
