ASLAN DFP 42 LifeTimeRemove is a white matte monomer print film (80µm) with removable adhesive. Ideal for temporary indoor and short-term outdoor applications. Can still be removed cleanly after long-term use. Suitable for promotions, trade shows and campaign marketing on flat surfaces.
ASLAN LifeTimeRemove DFP42 is a matte white monomeric PVC film, 80 µm thick, with ultra-removable low-tack adhesive. Designed for temporary indoor graphics, wall decals and POS displays - removable without residue even after long-term use.
The DFP42 is specifically designed for removable, temporary applications. ASLAN states that the film can be removed without residue even after long-term indoor use. However, the actual duration depends on several factors: the type of surface (smooth, sealed vs. porous), exposure to heat or sunlight, environmental factors such as humidity and how well the film is applied (properly cleaned surface, curing of the ink). For best results, it is best to test beforehand, especially on painted or textured surfaces.
Smooth or slightly textured surfaces are ideal: glass, painted wood, varnished surfaces, wood veneer, wallpaper (including wood chips/solid wallpaper), painted walls. Avoid very rough, highly porous surfaces or surfaces with a loose texture that may compromise adhesion or make clean removal difficult. Always test on actual surface.
Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV-curable inks. Screen printing inks also work when properly cured. Most important precaution: make sure inks are properly dried or cured before gluing and curing, as wet or insufficiently cured inks can "bleed" into the adhesive, soften the adhesive or lead to poor adhesion or lifting. Also consider environmental exposure: humidity and temperature can affect the performance of the adhesive until it is fully stabilized.
The application temperature is at least ~ 15 °C. For optimal adhesion, higher temperatures may help. Once applied, the operating temperature range is wide: from about -30 °C to +80 °C, making the film suitable for indoor use and even short-term exposure outdoors or in environments with variable temperatures. However, prolonged exposure to extreme heat or UV may reduce performance or make removal difficult.
The thickness is about 80 µm. This is relatively standard for monomeric PVC films used indoors. This provides a balance: enough stiffness to handle in printers and during application, yet flexible enough to adapt to slightly irregular surfaces. Thicker films can be more durable, but also more expensive and less flexible. Thinner films can come at the expense of handling or print feel.
Immediately after application, the adhesive strength is about 3.0 N/25 mm. Over time (about a week), this increases to about 8.0 N/25 mm. This means that the material initially grips enough to stay in place, but becomes stronger as it cures. This behavior helps prevent later loosening or peeling while still allowing clean removal.
ASLAN designed DFP42 primarily for temporary indoor applications. It can handle certain outdoor conditions (e.g. sheltered areas, short periods of time) as far as the surface, exposure and environmental stress allow. But for prolonged outdoor use (direct sunlight, severe weather) you may have problems: changes in adhesion, possible fading, difficult to clean. For long-term outdoor use, a product specifically suitable for long-term outdoor use is recommended.
Lightfastness is rated to DIN 53 388, non-fading grade 7-8 on the wool scale - this is quite good for indoor applications. But over time, direct exposure to UV radiation (sunlight through glass, unshaded windows, etc.) can still cause gradual color fading or degradation. If high UV exposure is expected, use UV-curable inks, appropriate overlaminates or UV protective coatings.
Removal should be done gradually, pulling obliquely from one side. Applying mild heat (hot air gun, warm room) can help soften the adhesive so that it releases well. Removal is clean on smooth, firm surfaces. On porous surfaces, textured surfaces or poorly sealed surfaces, adhesive residue may remain - these surfaces should be cleaned carefully afterwards. Use mild cleaners or adhesive removers if necessary.
Store rolls in a cool, dry place: temperature between 15-25 °C, relative humidity around 50-60 %. Store rolls vertically or in specially designed hanging racks to avoid pressure points or distortion. Inspect the roll for damage or deformation before use. If storage conditions are poor (too hot, too cold, too humid), the material may crease or the adhesive layer may change.
