Extended product description

Key benefits and customer value

In the dynamic world of vehicle branding and visual communications, differentiation in color, finish and ease of installation is key. The Arlon Premium Color Change Cast Wrap offers exactly those benefits: its molded construction makes the film highly conformable and suitable for difficult shapes such as rivets and deep channel profiles. The FLITE Technology® ensures an extremely smooth liner release process and helps reduce assembly errors. For your customers, this means faster work, high-quality end results and reliability - resulting in better customer satisfaction and fewer revisions.

With the extensive color selection and different finishes (gloss, matte, satin), you can offer end users a premium look that fits their brand or branding exactly. With a success rate on exterior applications of up to approximately 10 years (unprinted), you also have a durable solution, which adds visible value in quotations and sales calls.

Detailed product capabilities

The film is constructed of a cast vinyl film with a thickness of approximately 76-84 µm (~3-3.3 mil). The solid construction ensures minimal shrinkage and excellent conformability. The adhesive layer is repositionable, meaning you can adjust the film during assembly before final printing - ideal for complex panels or multiple people working together.

The use of an air channel liner ("air channel liner") means that air inclusions are greatly reduced and the result is extremely smooth. Glossy colors also have a protective PET film applied during production, which must be removed prior to installation, maximizing the final gloss.

This film is available in widths of approximately 1.52 m (1520 mm) with roll lengths up to approximately 25 m. The choice of colors and finishes makes it suitable for a variety of branding applications: from classic white/black wraps to striking metallics and matte-aluminum trends.

Typical applications and industries

This film is well suited for:

  • Full- and partial vehicle wraps (cars, vans, trucks, buses) where color change or premium appearance is desired.
  • Fleet graphics and fleet branding in commercial sectors: consistent color theme, clean result and relatively easy installation.
  • Premium signage & visual communications: facade wraps, interiors, showrooms, where color makes a statement.
  • Motor and boat wrapping: because the film moves well with you and is suitable for complex shapes, it can also be used in maritime or powersport environments.
  • For Dimix, this means offering a versatile wrap solution that is technically strong and visually distinctive - perfect for customers who value both appearance and quality.

Processing & quality advice

For optimal results, the following processing approach is recommended:

  • Allow the film to acclimate in the mounting room (at approximately 21°C) before starting installation.
  • Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, grease- and dust-free. For vehicles: clean well all panels, remove wax/oil and inspect the condition of the paintwork.
  • When mounting glossy variants: remove the protective PET film before final mounting (for maximum gloss).
  • Preferably mount at ambient temperature ≥ 10 °C; for deep channels or rivets a slightly higher temperature is recommended.
  • If possible, avoid mounting on horizontal surfaces without slope (such as roofs) where sun, dirt or water attack is strongly present, unless you apply additional protection.
  • For outdoor life up to 10 years: schedule periodic maintenance, avoid prolonged exposure to extreme conditions and inspect edges/corners for loosening.
  • Where relevant, combine with top quality cutting tools, spray threads and mounting aids to achieve maximum final quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose the Arlon Premium Colour Change instead of a standard wrap film?

Thanks to its molded construction, repositionable adhesive and FLITE Technology®, this film offers clear advantages in ease of installation, final finish and reliability. For applications such as vehicles or important branding, this is distinctive.

Can I apply this film to vehicles with complex shapes (rivets, channels, curves)?

Yes - it was developed precisely for this purpose: thanks to excellent conformability and guaranteed adhesion in deep channels, bends and recesses, mounting on complex shapes is quite possible provided proper mounting procedures are followed.

How long does outdoor use last?

If correctly installed and applied in suitable conditions, the film can last up to approximately 10 years outdoors (unprinted). For printed applications, the lifespan depends on ink, printing process and maintenance.

Is the film easy to remove without adhesive residue?

Yes - because of FLITE Technology® and the repositionable adhesive, removal without adhesive residue is possible. This also makes it suitable for rental or temporary branding applications.

What finishes are available and what are the visual differences?

The film is available in gloss (high gloss), satin (soft gloss) and matte finishes. For visual impact, gloss is popular, while matte or satin are suitable for more subtle looks or interior applications.

What colors are available?

There is a wide selection of colors, including Gloss Black, Gloss White, Gloss Red, Metallics, Matte Aluminum variants, Satin Pearl White, etc. Color range available through material partner.

Which printer/printing method is suitable for this film?

Although this film is often used without an additional print (color-changing effect), it can also be used in combination with prints or decals. Make sure that if printed, an appropriate ink and print workflow is used.

Can I apply this film to horizontal surfaces such as roofs?

Technically possible, but durability is generally better on vertical or slightly sloped surfaces. For horizontal use, extra attention to maintenance or over-laminate topcoat is recommended.

How should I prepare the substrate?

Provide a clean, dry, grease-free substrate. Clean vehicles well, remove wax or oil, inspect paint quality. Acclimate film, work at suitable temperature, and avoid extreme conditions.

Why should I purchase this film through Dimix?

At Dimix you not only get this top product, but also technical support, installation advice and total solutions for large format printing and cutting solutions in the sign and visual communication sector. So you can impress your client with quality and service.
