Polymer PVC - White satin - Permanent high-tack pressure sensitive adhesive with X-Scape Technology® - Thickness approximately 90 µm - For demanding interior and exterior applications such as wall or low energy substrates (up to ± 7 years outdoors).
The Arlon DPF 8200X High Tack Satin White PVC 90 µm is an industrially robust printing film specifically developed for difficult substrates such as brick, concrete or plastic with low surface tension (LSE). With this film you offer installations a reliable base: thanks to the 90 µm thick polymeric film, the powerful High Tack adhesive and the satin white finish you guarantee quality and durability. Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV inks, the film is ideal for sign and visual communication projects where adhesion, appearance as well as low maintenance are key.
Key features:
In the sign and visual communications industry, the challenge remains great to offer printing solutions on substrates that are not standard - such as rough facades, brick, concrete, textured walls or low surface tension (LSE) plastic panels. Many standard films encounter adhesion problems, shrinkage, bubbles or loosening. The Arlon DPF 8200X High Tack offers the solution through a combination of features: robust film construction, a strong adhesive, ease of processing and reliable exterior performance. For Dimix, this means you are helping customers complete projects that others might refuse or call risky. You deliver not just materials, but assurance, quality and professionalism.
This film is composed of a calendered polymeric PVC film approximately 90 µm thick (≈3.5 mil) with satin white finish. The gloss value is approximately 40-60 gloss units (measured at 60°), making the appearance premium without annoying reflections. The adhesive is a permanent "High Tack" pressure sensitive version with very strong initial adhesion even to LSE substrates such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or powder coated metals. The liner is a polycoated lay-flat version with low profile air-egress, greatly reducing air entrapment during assembly. Thanks to the low shrinkage adhesive system, dimensional stability is good (at 70 °C over 48 hours shrinkage < 1.27 mm). The film has been tested for service temperatures from -54 °C to +107 °C and recommended application temperature on clean, dry substrates is approximately 10 °C to 27 °C. The integrated X-Scape Technology® enables easier assembly, less chance of bubbles and faster production and installation.
This film is ideally suited for applications such as:

The film is specifically designed for low surface tension (LSE) substrates such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), powder-coated metals or textured exterior facades such as brick or concrete. With its permanent High Tack adhesive and robust film construction, it can handle "difficult" surfaces where standard films fall short. Note that porous or highly rough substrates such as uncoated concrete may require a sealer or surface treatment to ensure optimal adhesion.
For successful application, the substrate should be clean, dry and free of grease or dust. The recommended temperature for installation is around approximately 10°C to 27°C. At lower temperatures, the adhesive may adhere more slowly; after installation, the film is suitable for service temperatures from approximately -54 °C to +107 °C, making the product suitable for a variety of environments.
The short-term adhesion (peel-adhesion) is approximately 0.71 kg/cm measured according to the PSTC-1 test method 15 minutes after installation at 21 °C. This high figure illustrates the strong initial adhesion of the film and gives confidence when installing on difficult substrates.
When applied vertically and under ideal conditions, the film has an outdoor life of up to approximately 7 years (in unprinted form). With printing and depending on exposure (sun, wind, pollution), mounting angle or maintenance, results may vary. For inclined or horizontal applications, a shorter service life generally applies.
Yes - the film is compatible with various printing technologies such as solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV-curable inkjet. However, it is essential that the ink has dried and smeared sufficiently before mounting or lamination, as the film's strong adhesive and stability may place additional demands on processing and finishing.
Yes - for rough or textured surfaces, it is recommended to apply the film using soft rollers or controlled heat (heat gun) so that the film settles well into the texture. An edge-seal is highly recommended for exterior walls to prevent water or dirt intrusion under the film.
The satin white finish offers a stylish look with less mirroring than high gloss, while remaining visually sleek. For sign applications where both quality and aesthetics are important, this is a great choice.
Typical sizes are, for example, 1,372 m (1372 mm) or 1,524 m (1524 mm) wide × approximately 45.72 m length, depending on supplier. For current stock and dimensions, contact Dimix is recommended.
Yes - recommended overlaminates include Series 3220, Series 3420, ProTec 3960. Depending on the application (e.g. additional scratch or UV protection), an overlaminate can be applied to further increase durability.
For Dimix as a specialist in large format printing and cutting solutions, this film offers the difference on projects with challenging substrates. The combination of high adhesion, robust construction and reliable aesthetics allows customers to be served with solutions that would otherwise be risky or rejected. This strengthens Dimix's position as a quality and technical partner.
