Polymer PVC - White satin - Permanent high-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive - Thickness approximately 90 µm - Developed for long-term applications on flat as well as difficult to adhere substrates such as ABS plastics, polyolefins or slightly textured surfaces.
The Arlon DPF 8000 Ultra Tack Satin Clear PVC 90 µm is a high-quality calendered PVC printing film with a satin clear finish, specially designed for difficult substrates such as low surface tension plastics, brick or concrete. Thanks to the 90 µm film thickness and a powerful permanent "Ultra Tack" adhesive, this film guarantees excellent adhesion and durability. Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV inks, it offers sign and visual communication companies a reliable base product for challenging projects.

Yes - this film is explicitly designed for low surface tension (LSE) substrates such as PP or PE, and even rough surfaces such as concrete or brick. The Ultra Tack adhesive offers high initial adhesion, but it is important that the substrate is thoroughly clean, dry and, if necessary, pre-treated (such as light sanding or flame-treatment) to achieve optimal adhesion.
The recommended application temperature on a clean, dry substrate is approximately between -1 °C and +27 °C. Outside this range, adhesion may be less or processing risks may occur. After mounting, the product is suitable for service temperatures of approximately -54 °C to +107 °C, making it usable even in extreme environments.
The short-term peel-adhesion is approximately 0.89 kg/cm (measured according to PSTC-1 test method 15 minutes after mounting at 21 °C). This indicates that the film already provides very strong adhesion immediately after mounting - which is essential for difficult substrates or surfaces on which standard films fail.
Unprinted, the film has an outdoor life of up to approximately 7 years when applied vertically and under optimal conditions. For printed applications, the lifetime depends on the ink types and environment used. For sloping or horizontal surfaces, the lifetime may be shorter.
Yes - the film is compatible with these printing technologies. However, it is important that the ink is fully smeared and dried before mounting or laminating, otherwise the aggressive adhesive construction may cause shrinkage or edge-curl.
Although the film is powerful, highly porous substrates such as uncoated concrete, textured brick or highly textured surfaces are sometimes outside the standard warranties. In such cases, sealer or pretreatment is strongly recommended. Highly sloped or horizontal applications can also affect the service life.
The satin clear finish means that the film has a subtle reflection (gloss value approximately 40-60 gloss units) and is visually less reflective than a high gloss finish. This gives a professional appearance and is suitable for sign installations where appearance and reliability come together.
Yes - for textured surfaces such as brick or tile, it is recommended that the film be carefully applied into the texture, such as with a soft roller or controlled heat source (heat gun) to allow the adhesive to adhere well into the surface. Edge-sealing is recommended to limit dirt or moisture penetration.
Yes - for additional protection or desired finish, overlaminates can be applied such as Series 3220, Series 3420 or ProTec 3960. It is wise to determine in advance what finish or protection is required for the specific project.
