The MG-640 supports larger media up to 64 inches wide and can handle heavier rolls (up to 40 kg), while the MG-300 is designed for narrower media up to 30 inches and can handle rolls up to 25 kg. This makes the MG-640 better suited for large-format signs and vehicle wraps, while the MG-300 is ideal for packaging prototypes and label production.
Although designed primarily for roll-fed materials, the MG Series can process semi-rigid substrates up to 1.0 mm thick with an optional extension table. This allows for small-run packaging and mock-ups on cardboard or similar materials.
The MG Series supports gloss and white inks and enables raised textures, simulated embossing, spot varnish and matte/gloss effects. These features enhance visual appeal and tactile interaction, especially for labels and high-end packaging.
The integrated contour cutter allows you to accurately cut around printed images. Manual trimming is no longer necessary, streamlining the production of decals, stickers and heat transfers.
Yes, the ECO-UV EUV5 inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified, which means they emit few chemicals and are safe for use in indoor environments, such as schools and healthcare facilities.
Compatible media include vinyl, PET film, banners, paper, canvas and synthetic paper. The printer's UV-curable inks adhere well to coated and uncoated substrates, making it very versatile.
The MG series comes with Roland VersaWorks 6 RIP software. It includes features such as variable data printing, color matching tools and support for special effects such as textures and spot gloss.
A rewinding unit is optional and is recommended for long print runs or unmanned use. It ensures smooth rewinding of the print material and helps maintain print alignment.
Thanks to UV-LED technology, the MG Series consumes significantly less energy than traditional curing systems. It consumes about 250 W during operation and 40 W in standby, reducing electricity costs.
Routine maintenance includes daily print head cleaning, ink system checks and periodic replacement of wiper blades and cleaning cartridges. It provides instructions to ensure consistent performance and minimize downtime.
