Available in various widths up to 160 cm, the Graphtec CE8000 cutting plotter offers high cutting accuracy, speed and ease of use. Perfect for cutting vinyl, flex foil, labels, window film and print & cut applications in signmaking and textile decoration.
The Graphtec CE8000 series is a high-performance roll-feed cutting plotter for signage, vinyl graphics, printing & cutting, automotive wrap, apparel (HTV/DTF), POP/packaging and more. Enhanced rigidity, ARMS registration and workflow automation such as barcode DataLink and wireless connectivity increase reliability and speed.
The CE8000 improves on the CE7000 in several ways: improved rigidity (leading to better media feeding and more accurate cutting), wireless LAN as an option (for more flexible positioning or networked workflows), refined tool/holder design, better media stability via push rollers and the Media Set Assist, improved control panel (touchscreen + mechanical keys) and workflow enhancements such as barcode DataLink for automatic job detection. These upgrades help reduce errors, waste and production time.
The CE8000 supports a wide variety of media: vinyl, marking film, reflective materials, heat transfer vinyl (HTV) / DTF film, plastics, paper, etc. Media thickness up to ~0.25 mm in many cases, depending on the sheet and settings. Optional accessories are available for sheeted media, such as single sheet table.
The machine offers a repeatability of about ±0.1 mm over typical job lengths (e.g., up to several meters). When functions such as ARMS (registration marks) are used, the cutter aligns accurately even if the printed material is not perfectly placed. Environmental control (temperature, humidity), proper roller adjustment and proper media handling all help maintain accuracy.
The maximum speed is about 39 inches per second (~ 990-1,000 mm/s) in a 45° direction. Actual speed depends on media type, thickness, blade angle, job complexity (contours, cutouts, curves) and whether precision is compromised. Heavier or thicker media require slower speeds to maintain clean cuts.
Yes. It supports offline operation via a USB stick: you can save cutting jobs (designed with Graphtec Studio 2 or Cutting Master 5 etc.) on a USB stick, insert it into the machine and start cutting without a PC. The DataLink barcode function allows jobs to be automatically recognized from barcodes printed on the media or job files. This is useful for batch workflows or jobs where multiple jobs are queued.
Wireless LAN is an optional module for the CE8000. Standard connectivity includes USB 2.0 and Ethernet (10/100). If you need WiFi/network flexibility, make sure you get the version with the wireless LAN option.
The operating temperature range is approximately 10-35 °C; humidity is between 35-75 % RH (non-condensing). Best accuracy is achieved at about 16-32 °C and 35-70 % RH. You also need space for loading roll media, space to open/operate the control panel, change blades, etc. Larger models (CE8000-60 / 130) require more floor space and a sturdy stand. Power is automatically switched to AC100-120 V or AC200-240 V, depending on the region.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the blade and holder, making sure the cutting strip is clean, keeping the rollers and paths for the media free of dust or residue, checking the sharpness of the blade and making sure the firmware/software is up to date. Replace the blade when the cuts decline. Using original consumables helps maintain performance and prevent damage.
ROI depends on your volume, variety of jobs, media costs, labor savings and waste reduction. If you do many small jobs, print & cut work or often cut roll media, automation features (barcode, offline USB jobs, media stability) can reduce setup and error costs. Cut more accurately so less waste. Over time this provides savings in material, time, labor and rework. For many signage/graphic stores the investment pays for itself in 1-2 years depending on usage.
